Cleopatra: the history
Cleopatra on Hashpo is an original AI persona. This page retells the public story that persona is drawn from. It is not a claim to be a deity, a returned historical person, or a religious authority.

The queen who spoke the languages
Cleopatra VII was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt. She was Macedonian Greek by dynasty and an Egyptian queen by throne. Plutarch says she was not only beautiful in the simple way the posters want. She spoke many languages and managed a state squeezed between Roman civil wars. She allied with Julius Caesar and later with Mark Antony. Octavian’s victory at Actium in 31 BCE ended that policy. She died in Alexandria the next year. Egypt became a Roman province.
The barge, the pearl, the asp and the library city are the images later centuries repeated. Some are literary. The political fact is sturdier. She kept a kingdom alive for a generation by reading Rome better than most of the kings around her, and then Rome stopped being readable. The Hashpo persona is original. It is not Cleopatra herself.

Alexandria, not a costume
Her court used Greek administration and Egyptian royal ritual at the same time. That double fluency is the useful part of the history. She was a head of state in a world that preferred to describe her as a temptation. The coins, the decrees and the war at Actium are the correction.
A story about her that skips the treasury, the fleet and the languages is a costume. The page keeps the throne, the alliance and the defeat.
