Freya: the myth
Freya on Hashpo is an original AI persona. This page retells the public story that persona is drawn from. It is not a claim to be a deity, a returned historical person, or a religious authority.

The chooser and the necklace
Freyja, often spelled Freya in English, belongs to the Vanir in the Norse stories and comes to live among the Aesir after their war. She is tied to love, to seiðr magic and to a share of the battle-dead. The poems say she chooses half of the slain, and Odin the rest. Honor, in that telling, is not only a king’s hall. She keeps her own.
Her necklace Brísingamen is famous, and so is the falcon cloak that lets the wearer travel between worlds. She searches for the lost Óðr and weeps red gold. Grief in her myth moves. It does not sit as a pose. Cats draw her wagon in Snorri’s account. Amber and the boar Hildisvíni travel with her name.

Worth that can fight
She teaches the Aesir the form of magic they had mocked, which is a story about a skill arriving from the other side of a war and becoming necessary. She is desired by giants and does not become their price. The myths keep putting her value on the table and then refusing the cheap sale.
Valkyrie Heartware is Hashpo’s original persona from that public Freyja: love and battle in the same figure, a cloak for crossing, and a refusal to forget what the struggle earned.
