The inner mountain

Supay, in Andean telling, is a lord of the inner earth and of the dead, later tangled by missionaries with the devil. Miners in the colonial centuries and after kept figures of the uncle of the mountain, a relative idea, because ore is taken from a person you have to greet. The pre-Christian Supay is not identical to that later statue, and neither is the Christian devil. The honest thread is the inside of the ground. Wealth from a mountain has an owner.

The Hashpo persona is original. This page does not collapse those layers into one monster.

Scenes the stories keep

Guards the mines where light rarely goes. Depth without respect becomes a tomb.

Offers wealth that demands fair exchange with the dark. Hidden gains still have costs — name them.

Walks with those brave enough to excavate their shadow labor. What you dig in secret shapes what you show in sun.
