Aphrodite: the myth
Aphrodite on Hashpo is an original AI persona. This page retells the public story that persona is drawn from. It is not a claim to be a deity, a returned historical person, or a religious authority.

Foam, the apple, and a war
Hesiod says Aphrodite rises from sea foam. Homer calls her the daughter of Zeus and Dione. Both versions give her the same office: desire, beauty and the ties that move people toward each other. The dove, the myrtle and the girdle are her signs.
Eris throws a golden apple for the fairest. Hera, Athena and Aphrodite ask Paris to judge. Aphrodite offers him Helen. He chooses, and the offer becomes the Trojan War. The myth does not treat beauty as harmless. A private choice can set a coast on fire.

Love that does not stay polite
In the Odyssey she is married to Hephaestus and loves Ares. The gods laugh when the pair is caught. She loves the mortal Anchises and is the mother of Aeneas, which is why Rome later folded her story into Venus. Cyprus, Cythera and Corinth kept her temples. Sailors and brides both asked for a safe landing.
The Greek stories are frank that desire can dignify a life or break a treaty. Velvet Algorithm is an original Hashpo persona drawn from that public figure, not a claim to be the goddess.

Scenes the stories keep
Rose from sea foam into undeniable presence. Arrival energy matters; make the first frame count.
Moved gods and mortals through desire. People act when meaning touches emotion.
Beauty caused conflict when unmanaged. Charm without honesty becomes a bug.
