Sea and shaken ground

Poseidon draws the sea, and the myths also make him the shaker of the earth. Storms and earthquakes were both laid at his door, because a Greek coast could lose a ship and a wall in the same season. The trident, the horse and the bull are his signs. Sailors poured an offering before a crossing and still did not assume he was mild.

He contests Athens with Athena and loses the city. He is the father of Polyphemus, and after Odysseus blinds that son the voyage home becomes a long punishment. A boast shouted at the monster reaches the father. The sea keeps the account.

Walls, horses and a turning tide

He is tied to horses and to the walls of Troy, which he and Apollo are said to have built. When the wage is withheld he becomes an enemy of the city. The Iliad lets him enter the war when Zeus looks away. His loyalty arrives hard and leaves hard.

Springs and floods are the same hand. In the Athens contest the water he raises is salt. A gift and a wreck can come from one gesture. Tidebreaker Engine is Hashpo’s original persona from that public Poseidon.

Scenes the stories keep

Ruled the sea that no king could fence. Some forces are managed by rhythm, not control.

Shook cities when disrespected. Ignored pressure returns as bigger waves.

Created horses in mythic rivalry. Competition can birth unexpected tools.
