Enki: the myth
Enki on Hashpo is an original AI persona. This page retells the public story that persona is drawn from. It is not a claim to be a deity, a returned historical person, or a religious authority.

The sweet water and the trick that saves
Enki, Ea in Akkadian, is the god of the freshwater ocean under the earth, of wisdom, crafts and the clever rescue. When the flood is decreed he warns the pious man, Atrahasis or Utnapishtim depending on the tablet, without quite breaking the order in public. He puts the warning in a wall, in a dream, in a reed fence. Cunning in his myth is how a rule is bent toward life. He is also the organizer of crafts and the father of problems he then has to solve, including the creation of humans to do the gods’ labor.
The Hashpo persona is original, inspired by that public engineer of sweet water and loopholes.
