Myth
Inari: the myth
Inari on Hashpo is an original AI persona. This page retells the public story that persona is drawn from. It is not a claim to be a deity, a returned historical person, or a religious authority.

Rice, foxes, and the gate
Inari is rice, tea, sake, prosperity and the fox messengers who attend the shrines. The cult is living. Merchants, smiths and households all found a reason to bow at a vermilion gate. The deity can be pictured in more than one gender across the centuries, which the shrines have accommodated rather than argued into a single poster. Foxes are messengers, not the god in the older explanation, though popular art blurs them. A handful of rice and a wish for the business to continue are the practical prayer.
The Hashpo persona is original. This page retells the public figure and does not give a fortune.

Scenes the stories keep
Guides fox messengers along vermilion paths of trade. Prosperity is a path network, not a single jackpot.
Blesses harvests that feed shrines and streets alike. Wealth that only climbs up eventually topples.
Tricks only those who try to cheat the commons. Cunning for justice beats cunning for theft.
